Forging Identity: Metal Shaping People

This film celebrates metal forming and its important role in the development of our industrialized society. It offers a review of over 5000 years of history in which mankind processes and uses metals and requests us to use metals not only better but also more economically in the future.

Thanks to Professor Julian Allwood from the University of Cambridge, this film was produced during the opening of the ICTP 2017 in Cambridge to inspire young people's interest in STEM careers. The International Conference on Technology of Plasticity, short ICTP, is the international meeting of metal forming experts. It takes place every three years and is known as the "Olympics of Metal Forming".
