The VHX-7000 digital microscope from Keyence is used at the IBF for extensive analysis of sample material. In addition to 2D images for the analysis of micrographs, 3D images of surface profiles can also be generated or roughness measured. Compared to its predecessor, the VHX-1000D digital microscope, the VHX-7000 has more options due to the two objectives and the many viewing modes. For example, surface structures can be measured more effectively and grain size analyses can be performed via the enhanced software.
